Glue and APS
John Bercovitz writes that he uses Elmer's Yellow Wood glue for closing
his "Spicer" cardboard mounts. I have been using plain old Elmer's
white glue and it seems to work well. I just hope it doesn't harm
the slide. Elmer's white is a fairly non-toxic substance. Does anyone
know if it harms slide film?
Speaking of sticky issues, APS APS APS! Michael Kersenbrock wonders if
we should twin the promised small cameras. Definitely! I hope some
enterprising camera manufacturer introduces matched pairs, or a
"master/slave" camera pair. The main camera would function alone
as a mono camera, then become part of a stereo camera when the other
half is attached. The magnetic digital information could
identify the two images as a stereo pair and ensure that they are
developed and printed with the same settings. The promise of
automated processing is that a new format for stereo could be
established. Photo finishers would not have to deal with the
non-standard nature of stereo pairs, it would be handled by the
programing of the processing machines.
Perhaps this is just wishful thinking...
Harold.
