Hello everyone!

Hello 3d pals!

I'm fairly new to this newsletter and have found it to be thoroughly
enjoyable and look forward to each new digest. The information is invaluable
and the attitude of the participants is friendly and intelligent.

Here's where I am at with 3D: I have collected antique stereo views for over
a year, having received a lovely old Holmes viewer as a birthday present. I
have hundreds of old views, my favorites are of trains, waterfalls and
national parks. My best find was a collection of turn of the century travel
views, 100 to the set (per country) in boxes which looked like two books
side-by-side when set upright. And in near-perfect condition, too. There were
about a dozen sets, all seemingly *complete,* but I did not go back to the
antique store until a week later, whereupon I found another couple snapping
them up...for $75 per set!! I quickly grabbed two sets, Russia and India,
checked for condition and contents and also took the only box of
miscellaneous views while I was at it. They are truly a great find!

I recently bought a Revere stereo camera with leather case for $300 in very
cherry condition. I have shot only 2 rolls so far, but the results were
thrilling! In another antique store I found a Kodaslide One viewer for about
$100, also in perfect condition in it's original box with instructions. It
looks like I am on my way!

I am sure that the Revere will take the place of my primary camera,
accompanying me on all trips and events *or I, too, will simply not go*!

Through Web pages and this newsletter, I have been in contact with Reel 3D,
George Themelis and Rocky Mountain Memories, all of whom replied promptly and
in a friendly manner. Big discovery: Kodak still mounts Realist views! ...my
first roll to Kodak is due back soon!

I would appreciate any feedback as to the quality of my equipment, future
purchases, clubs and events in my area (Northern California, SF Bay Area).
