Circular Polorised Glasses ?

Hi everyone..

I've been off-line for a while (work pressure etc..), and an currently working 
my way through the 5 megs of Digests sitting on my hard drive..(currently up to 
Digest 1064 (22nd November 1995)... chug chug chug  ?8^(

..anyway, I've just been reading athread on circular polerised glasses. It said 
something about one lense being polorised for clockwise and the other for 
anti-clockwise. When I happened to mention this to some friends at work, they 
disputed this saying ".. light waves dont have any rotation!"

Can anyone help me out here ?

I didn't do physics at school (they did!), the only knowledge of light I have 
is from reading this list and reading about holography.
