Mary Ann-- thanks for the info re Waldsmith-- I'll contact him.
But as for taking second fiddle or late in the day booking, maybe some
folks would _prefer_ to get together and discuss/demo camera torturing
instead of watching slides or going to lectures. To clarify, I wasn't
talking about computer or listserv related things, but actual camera or
projection modification and building. Most conventions have concurrent
events scheduled so people have options re their personal interests.
Also, (John B are you listening?) I'd like to see some sessions on
optical theory as related to photography in general and the
relationships stereoscopy.
Anyway, I'll contact Waldsmith and explain the concept. I'd be willing to [A
bet something like this would outdraw many of the lecture/projected image
shows.
Another option would be to provide some of these alternates by setting up
satellite sites-- since this will be taking place here in western
Washington, we can probably find some local people who can supply
residential space in Bellevue for such gatherings.
Elliott
Also also, I'd like to see a midnight film festival of 3D (polarized) movies.
