Some comments on the midnite 3-D movies. I havent seen any 3-D movies in
Connecticut since the last 80s boom (or was that a bust). To bring back
interest in 3-D movies it would have to be roadshow. Only selected theaters
that would show the 3-D movies properly. First, the movies should be
restored, like they did with movies like My Fair Lady and Sparticus. If they
are movies from the fifties, show them full screen (1.33:1 aspect ratio) not
cropped to 1.85:1. They should also be presented in stereo surround sound, if
the sound tracks can be found. I have a copy of the House of Wax from 3-D
TV. The 3-D is OK but, its cropped to 1.85:1 (the bottom of the picture is
masked) and its not inStereo (originally Warner Phonic Sound). The cropping
ruins some of the 3-D effects (can can dancing) and sometimes you can only
see the top of Vicent Prices head when he is sitting in the weelchair. After
the 3-D film roadshow, sell those movies on tapes through 3-D TV Corporation.
Maybe 3-D TV could advertise after/before the screening of each film. I dont
work for 3-D TV, Im looking to add more movies to my collection.

On the needing two projectors for the 50s films. When these films were
re-released in the 70s and 80s, they were converted to single strip
side-by-side anamorphic 35mm and 70mm. Lots of this information can be
obtained in the book 3-D Movies by Robert Hayes. Two paperback books -
(8.5in. by 11in) Amazing 3-D by Morgan and Symmes and Fantastic 3-D a
Starlog Photo Guidebook, also have information on 3-D movies as well as
comics, photos, gum cards, etc.
