I don't know if you could get a 50x50 slide mounter to mount offset
one way for one frame and the other way for the other frame. It would
be nice if you could. Then you could just drop the 50x50 slides into
a viewer and be done with it. I'd move the lenses in from 14p (66.5 mm)
to 65 mm to get some built-in windowing. And leave the film gates at
14p apart, as shown, of course. I don't have a problem with blowing a
few p worth of film. Hmmm... Even if you could get them mounted,

So part of X and part of Y will be buried in the mount.
If you can't get an automatic mounter to mount with opposite offsets,
you might as well go with Euro (7p) format because you'll just have to
ask for the film uncut to mount it. But you had some other advantages
which I didn't quite understand and so I'm overlooking them here,
unfortunately. I see what you mean about print pairs but what are the
advantages for transparencies?
