Calif, Anaheim, Disneyland, Tomorrowland

Saw an article in newspaper that Disney will be completely re-doing the
Tomorrowland area, and the new land will include STEREO MOVIES (plural like
in at least two, hopefully more). (presumably new).

Fortunately, there are people who :
 a) don't know or care about the value of what they own
 b) are desperate for cash
 c) are benevolent.

They help keep the price of previously owned product down.

Let's say you had enough money, time, and resources to slowly buy up every
Realistic and Kodak etc camera in existence, what would happen??:

Step 1: You alone would force the price up by creating a REAL diminishing
supply and a FALSE high demand. (Remember the bothers in Texas that tried to
buy up hoards of silver?) With prices now high, there would be REAL pent up
demand but there is a point at which each of us will not part with our cash,
so ACTUAL demand will diminish.

Step 2: As you continued your buying spree, you will encounter people who
won't sell at any price - they either don't need the money, just flat out
need or want the camera, or foolishly relish owning something that is going
up and up in value and will wait to sell only after the market crashes.

Step 3: After your buying spree is over, and you own almost all the product,
when you try to sell your hoard, the odds are you would not be able to find
very many people who will pay what you did (on average) for the product.

Step 4: Eventually you will have to lower your price until you encounter
someone is able and willing to part with their money.

Step 5: Go to step 4.

Ultimately you will loose money.

Collections and actively used product will ultimately be sold by someone who
does not necessarily value the objects as did the original collector. Prices
will pretty much go up with inflation and up and down with the rise and fall
of interest in the objects.

Who knows; somebody may invent and actually produce a super dooper 3D Point
and shoot that will make slides, prints, and lenticulars. Then interest in
the mainstream original cameras may plummet and you won't be able to get $20
for an old camera. Could happen. The only thing that stays the same is
change.
