People collecting stereo cameras don't in any way hinder anyone from buying cameras
whatsoever. One can go and buy cameras galore from a multitude of camera
stores just like one could go buy stamps from the USPO. One then says
"I can't get a 1955 Kodak Stereo camera from the camera store!" True, but
one can't get a 1955 Orange Roughy Fish stamp from the USPO either!

BOTH camera and stamp collectors collect things which BOTH *could* be in use,
but aren't by their collector owners. This was my point about why the
collector's mentality and drive are the same for stereo camera and
stamp collectors is the same.

I quite agree that stamp and stereo-camera USERS are different, but Stamp
and stereo-camera COLLECTORS are the same. Again, this was my point
for anyone who might think stereo camera collectors are unique. Stereo
camera collectors, IMO, are in the same boat as nearly all other antique or
"collectable" collectors. Including stamp collectors.

P.S. - I am a collector. I've got those nice little realist
filters, incl. the one that corrects tungsten film for use with sunlight.
I sincerely doubt that I'll ever use those. I DO use skylight/haze filters,
but almost never use tungsten correction ones. I don't know the last time
I've ever seen any tungsten balanced film. Been a *long* time for me. So
for me, my ownership is purely as a collector, and I'm keeping them. So
although there may be droves of people using tungsten balanced film in their
realists without a correction filter -- I'm keeping my set! I worked hard
earning the money that I bought them with. They're mine. If in a trading
deal I end up with extras, I'll sell/trade them, but my collection keeps a set!
I'd be willing to bet a majority of folk with one of these filters is
either a "collector" or a dealer, and not a user. :-)
