Interesting! Related questions:
1) If I mentally picture an aardvark, where in my brain does the image
reside?
2) If I dream about aardvarks, where are the pictures generated?
3) If I close my eyes and feel an object to determine its shape,
where is the mental 3D model held?
Given the medical imaging techniques available today, I'd think someone
would have studied this. I'm aware the issue is complicated, because
many parts of the brain are involved in interpreting an image. What I'm
interested in is the location for holding the image itself.
If the answer to all these questions is the same location, that could be
very strong evidence to support your speculation.
