  Scene in Yokohama park a few years ago.  Me, shooting with my Realist,
without Neveready  case, camera dangling from neck as I leap for good angles.
Native Japanese male, bristling with Nikons, approaches diffidently:  Excuse
please, this camera you  use, is it Japanese? " No," I say.  Japanese
enquirer: I see, then, it is German? " No, says I, it's an American camera.
"... Aaahhh. Puzzled and respectful look. Verrry interesting.

Now, what combination of serendipitous circumstances got the David White
Instrument company to take the plunge.?   And can it happen again.
