Hmmmm . . . noses . . . noses.  Noses.

A nose is a nose is a nose . . .  

If we called them something else, they would still smell the same.  
 
Some logic:
              Two eyes -> 3-D vision
              Two ears -> 3-D audition
              
                        *
                      *   *  (therefore), consistent with
                             the principles of inductive logic,

              Two nostrils -> 3-D olfaction!!

Q.E.D.!!!  Yet another 3-D locational cue, as yet
un-addressed by cognitive psychology.
