bobcat problems

is there something strange going on at bobcat on ftp?  I can log in 
anonymous/guest, but just get the intro message for the directory, with 
no listing of files.  This happens when i use <ls -l> from my dial up 
Unix server, and also when i use ftp from within Netscape over 
SLIP/TCP/PPP, and when i link from the Web page that has all the bobcat 
links.

 also featuring, access is unbelievably slow.

Wha????  Huh???  it used to work fine.  is it me Bob?
