Thanks for passing along the old Nintendo publicity hype. It makes the VB sound
like the greatest advance in 3D technology in history! Actually the excellent 3D
effect is unfortunately offset by the simple red/black LCD images and the
simplistic games, but at $30 you can't go wrong. Unfortunately, Blockbuster is
NOT selling the games, only the hardware, so you've still got to go to Toys R Us
and shell out $40 or $50 per game (or wait a while and pick them up as
remainders for a couple of bucks). As I believe he plans to report
independently, Lincoln Kamm and I were out and about this afternoon and helped
Blockbuster's cause by emptying out one store's supply of two units. The manager
told us he thought they might be brand new, because he couldn't remember anybody
ever renting them!
