Remounting BS slides

It was suggested that one remount ones Pentax BS slides and view them through a Realist viewer. I have done that with most of my BS slides, putting them in 21 x 16 RBT mounts. The improvement is considerable (the Pentax viewer, IMHO, is pretty poor), while a Dr. T. Red-Dot is the most wonderful viewer in the world!

The interocular spacing in the Pentax BS is a little small. And most Pentax BS images appear to have been made with a slightly telephoto lens. The result is that the stereo effect is not so pronounced as it is with the Realist-format photos. I have friends, though, who prefer it. One friend complains that my Realist photos are more 3-D than real life. He rarely makes the same comment about the BS photos.

Personally, I like and use both formats all the time -- they're just good for different things.
