I think that those who want to use filters, use them. They are not that
hard to find. The Realist camera takes series V filters only in combination
with the sunshades/filter-holder, but it also takes a smaller (non-standard)
filter that fits over the lenses and lets you close the lens shade. I had a
couple pairs but never used one in my camera. In one case, I glued a pair of
sunshades in the "Haze" filters and had a combination of shades, filters.
A film cannister fit perfectly over the shades to make a great lens cap.
I had it for display in Milwaukee but seldom used them in my camera.
