There is nothing you can do while using the camera that will give you
misaligned slides!  No matter how much you tilt the camera, the slides
will be perfectly aligned vertically.

That's why mounting is SO DARN SIMPLE!!!  All the slides are automatically 
aligned.  All you have to do is put them properly in the mount.  Some
mounts will let you do that much easier than others and will make your
job (life?) much easier...

(Of course, I am assuming the use of a stereo camera without any 
registration or unmatched lenses problems)
