NSA '96 Updates
- From: P3D Bill Davis <bd3d@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
- Subject: NSA '96 Updates
- Date: Wed, 5 Jun 1996 20:45:09 -0700
Hi all,
Following is a plain-text version of the flyer that I sent to the
printer this mmorning. This will be an insert for the next issue of
Stereo World (I don't have any idea which month they're up to) This
issue is at the printers, which means those of us who got tired of
Third Class delivery last year and upped to First Class will probably
be seeing the issue around the end of June or so. Third Class delivery
will probably take place in early October. :--)
Here's the update:
NSA '96 Update!
Hotel Rooms: At the time of this writing (June 3) there still
were rooms available in the NSA block at the Genesee Plaza Holiday Inn.
Call the Hotel directly at 716-546-6400 (rather than the 800 number)
to ensure a room in the NSA block.
Stereo Theater Friday and Saturday 9 AM to 4 PM Sunday 10 AM to
2 PM. Confirmed programs at press time include Manly and Lois Koehler's
"Wide Screen Extravaganza", a View-Master presentation from the Stereo
Club of Southern California's 1st Int'l Exhibition, as well as shows on
post-earthquake Osaka and Kobe, a voyage to Antarctica, underwater
macro work, and much more. Special Note: Registrants are invited to
bring slides for "Show and Tell", an informal viewing session in the
Stereo Theatre on Sunday afternoon. Anything you'd like to share will
be fine, but we'd particularly like to see slides from previous
conventions.
Spotlight Auction Friday Evening, August 2 Choice antique stereo
views, View Master treasures, a wide variety of cameras and viewers of
all formats, rare and interesting stereo novelties and a large
selection of stereo literature will all be on the bidding block. Mail
and phone bidding closes four days before the public sale. For a
catalog, send $10. check or money order to NSA Auction '96, P.O. Box
382, Holyoke, MA 01041 USA.
Awards Banquet Saturday, 7:00 PM Guest Speaker will be Mr.
William (Bill) Ewald. Bill, who is retired from a long career at
Eastman Kodak, where he was known as "Mr. Stereo" also taught graduate
Optics courses at the University of Rochester for twenty years.
Involved in the design of both the Kodak Stereo Camera and the
ill-fated Nimslo, Bill also designed and built many ingenious stereo
cameras, projectors and viewers that never saw production. Bill offers
a unique look at the stereo endeavors of a corporate giant.
Stereographica Trade Fair Saturday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Sunday
10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Nearly every major dealer in stereo images and
photographic equipment will be at this 100 table trade show! If you
can't find it at this Trade Fair, chances are the stereo-related item
you're looking for isn't available anywhere!

REGISTER NOW!
We would like to pre-register as many as possible! Pre-registered is
the way to go, as the manpower required to generate all of the badges,
stickers, packets, etc. on-site really slows things down, and wouldn't
you much rather be watching a slide presentation than standing in a
line waiting to register? Mail in that entry form today!
Thanks to Bill Tribelhorn, Dick Twichell and Jim Dusen for their help
in compiling this information.
