photo print repair
- From: P3D Bob Wier <wier@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Here's a cross post from another mailing list which could
be of some relevance here. I'm aware of Light Impressions
for archival storage material, but does anyone know of
an outfit for other type materials (like the glue mentioned
below?). This might be useful for view repair.
THANKS --B.W.
|Hi all,
|
|Recommendation: avoid repairing books with any pressure sensitive
|materials like heavy clear packaging tape or even cellophane tape, or
|heaven forbid, duct tape. The adhesive is generally acidic and will help
|deteriorate that which you hope to preserve. In time you will be able to
|detect brown stains where the tape was applied.
|
|Instead use a white glue such as PVA (polyvinyl acetate) and quality
|paper for repairs.
