Any halfway-decent photographic supply store (for example one that sells
darkroom supplies, chemicals, paper, etc.) will have cotton and/or nylon
lintless gloves made for the express purpose of handling film. Some of
the mail order places like Light Impressions sell them, too. I wear one,
Michael Jackson style, on my right hand while mounting. That way I can
handle the chip with impunity while I slide it around in the mount. The
other hand is bare and touches only the perforations of the film, but is
availble to hold or pick up things where the less slippery (compared to
the glove) skin contact is desirable.
The nylon ones are washable and re-usable multiple time. Buy a box
today! :-)
