|I am afraid I will have to study the schematics. This
|weekend I will check the mentioned flash pin shortening.

I've had some private discussions with some Nimslo owners and
they have said that about 1/4 of them are dead beyond just bad
batteries. It's suggested that one carry around 3 type 386 batteries
for a try out if one is found in a pawn shop, etc.

If you can discover a fixable common failure mode which doesn't involve
a zapped IC, there would be a several people very interested!
