I just ordered a Teco-Nimslo a few days ago, and asked about that too. It's
only within the past year or so that the Teco ads have specified the UK
models for conversion. What the builder told me is that the Japanese models
have soft screws, which are glued in place, and for that reason he prefers
to work with the UK models. I know that previously he did convert Japanese
Nimslos as well.
