|Seems in some ways that the decline in 3D (at least as a parlour medium)
|is being replicated by the decline in 2D slide presentation (also in the
|parlour). Through recent years almost all of my photo making friends
|have switched from slides to prints. And does anyone know if there is
|such a thing anymore as a Japanese slide projector?

That's an interesting question. I wonder why slide projectors were so
popular to begin with, as opposed to prints. Perhaps color prints
in reasonable sizes were prohibitively expensive as compared to a slide.
But I can't really remember. I *do* remember that my folks almost always
took slides (even in 2D) as opposed to doing prints...
