Oh yea I forgot to include in my original posting about beamsplitters
there is something else regarding beamsplitter definitions.
Steam by scientific definition is invisible because it is water
gas. But in laymen terms steam is defined as the smoke we see
when we boil water. So there are two correct ways of defining
steam. They live happily together in the proper context.
Check the dictionary. As someone said the dictionary reflects
how we use the word. I would agree and not as someone else stated
that the dictionary should dictate to us the definition of the word.
The dictionary should be more like a judge and democratic and
reflect actual usage. This results in dynamic evolution of words
for good or bad.
