My VM story concluded...
Well, I should really try and wrap up this long-winded story, so
it's safe to say that TYCO Canada sent my test reel by the fastest courier
possible after I spoke with them on that Monday. Their excuse for not
including me in the process? They thought it looked great and figured I
would too.
After an excellent reception for the reel at the exhibition opening,
including the 3D projection I mentioned a couple weeks back, sales have
tapered off. It seems the general public still thinks of the VM as a
childs toy instead being a unique and beneficial way to view three
dimensional artifacts. People looking at the backlit viewer in the exhibit
are quite thrilled by the experience, but they won't show their support by
buying a reel. We have planned a series of 3D slide lectures on Asian art
for October and hope that the attending public will see 3D in a better
light. I'll keep you posted.
:-)jamie.
