Hi All,

I agree that one of the prime uses for 3D is in learning. It does provide a
useful level of visual stimulation to assist the learning process. However,
learning is also very information intensive and would require lots of VM
reels to accomplish. This in turn would necessitate managing and keeping a
large number of reels organized, clean, etc.

I think the future of using 3D for such practical purposes lies in newer
technologies such as LCD glasses used with computer systems or video tapes
that have proven so useful for learning processes. They have the advantage
of making it possible to organize and present large numbers of graphics,
along with movies, animations, sound and music. For teaching groups of
people you would need 3D projection systems using the new LCD projectors.
There's no way that VM reels could compete with new technology in this category.

If VM reels have a future in the marketplace it will have to be built on
it's classic reputation, be more adaptable for ease of use and have better
promotion efforts. At best it's not likely to ever reach the popularity
levels it had in the past, but it could still do a whole lot better than it
is currently doing.

I think the fantasy holds true for 3D itself, but not with the VM reels as
the vehicle.
