Cinerama (and 3D) in Dayton, Ohio

I just returned from Dayton, Ohio, where I saw "This Is Cinerama" at the
New Neon. Anyone interested in photo technology of the 1950s should get to
see this stunning installation before it is dismantled at the end of
October. John Harvey and Larry Smith did a fantastic job of building the
giant screen, three projection booths, and the seven-channel sound system.
As I previously mentioned, the New Neon is one of the few theatres in the
US willing and able to screen dual-interlocked-projector 3D films. Going
to see Cinerama will help to support the New Neon's showing of 3D films in
their original formats. Larry Smith informed me that the theatre is
considering showing "Kiss Me, Kate" and "Hondo" next year in original,
dual-strip 3D versions.
