Hello Peter,
There is a take up spool for the film that you are missing. If I
remember correctly in that model the film is attached to the take up
spool, which is than inserted at the same time as the film casette,
while the exposed film length goes into the slot.
This may be a hard part to find, and the camera can not be used without
it.
