realist prints

>Kevin R. Evans> Does anyone out there in cyberland shoot
prints with his or her Realist and how do you get people to
process and print color print film correctly?

You have three choices:
1) Find a lab experienced with realist format (see the
products and services faq at bobcat);
2) Use a custom lab (big bucks); or
3) Make friends with the lab tech at your local mini-lab
(sometimes a 6-pack helps) and get him (or her) to crop the
standard 35mm mask down to 5 perf with tape (its an easy
job). The exposure computer _should_ use the same settings
because it will then _see_ the same image, but if the lab
tech is a good printer (able to read negatives) manual
settings would be better. Try to catch them on a slow day
near closing and you _may_ even get quick service. Explain
what you're doing and bring a viewer and some samples - get
em excited about 3D and your battle will be over (and if
they don't get excited - move on to the next mini-lab).
