Equip and Info

Hello again. Thanks for all the suggestions to my recent posting. A few
questions remain:

1) I asked about a poor starving graduate student who recently bought a
ViewMaster camera but doesn't have a cutter. She's looking for one that is not
too expensive.
The suggestion was made that perhaps someone would let her use theirs.
Unfortunately, the two people who made the offer were in San Fran, and she's in
West (by God) Virginia. If she could afford a flight out there, she could
afford probably to have one made!

So, is there anyone in or around West Virginia who has a ViewMaster cutter she
might come to your place to use? She does have a car, so she can travel some.

Or is someone willing to step forward and cut her stuff for her if she ships it
to you with some cashola (not much, remember, she's a starving student). Buy
yourself a few beers and cut away. She'll buy herself a few beers to drink
before she opens the package so she won't notice...

Jim Roberts said "There was a guy named Walsh selling a cutter for about $190, I
think,
on the trading board at Worldwide Slides." Feeling ignorant I will ask, what is
Worldwide Slides and how does she find it?

2) Lee and I (having been burgled at Rochester) are in the market to
replace our stolen Pentax beamsplitter (didn't steal the slide viewer).

Greg suggested checking Usenet (one of the rec.photo.foresale groups). I've not
been into newsgroups in a long time. Can you tell me which one? And is there
one having to do with 3D photography?

3) My request about the FedBoy lens cover left me blushing. I could have sworn
I read that the light meter was not reading with the lens cover on. I was
corrected by a couple people here. I went to my files to quote chapter and
verse and show you that you were wrong--but I proved myself wrong (eeek). So,
thanks for the GOOD information. I'll keep it in the case and all will be well
with the world.

4) I asked questions about how to join and was, appropriately, chastized.
Coincidentally, after I posted my question but before I got the response, it
dawned on me that I had that information as my very first message in my 3D mail
list file. Sorry to waste everyone's time. Joel, your soapbox was well used.
<blushing and feeling stupid> Point well made--again. When will we learn?!

Thanks again to all of you for being helpful, smart, and entertaining (well,
until you get into all the physics stuff and fancy equations).
