Re: Organizing slide collections

That's my system right now! As I said, I don't have time to sleep.
Organizing slides is very low in my list of priorities! I picture
myself after retirement, being busy organizing my slides and wishing
that I had written at least the dates in the mounts.
As you know, the Detroit stereo club has "assignments" for each
competition night, except the first and last that are "open".
I normally shoot for the assignments during the summer or the time
before that night. Being a chronic procrastinator, I always have
a roll (or rolls) of film to be developed on Monday before the
second Wednesday of the month (Detroit meeting). My local lab
will process them and return them Tuesday. I have to mount and
select slides the same night! That's why I usually get very little
sleep the night before a Detroit meeting and Jim Motley (local
3D enthusiast, member of the Detroit club) is politely asked to drive
in the way back (that's a 3 hour trip). It's either that or I'll
fall asleep driving!
Slides that do well in Detroit are thrown in another box and are
entered in PSA competitions. The only computerized list that I
keep is the slides entered in PSA and how they did.
I am curious to hear what other photo-3d members do to organize their
collection of 3-D slides.
