Thanks for the info.  Do you know what the relative cost was of the
early Kodacolor vs. chrome?  Was there some key development (no pun
intended) in the 1950's that would have caused people to abandon
slides for prints en mass?  Or was it just a matter of  the steady
improvement in the state-of-the-art finally "catching on"?
