Dt. T. seconds the idea that print film and color prints might have
killed slides.
It is far worse than you imagine..even considering E-6 films which are
easier to get processed than Kodachrome which is still the best for
sharpness. In film sales print film is something like 94%. And print
film sold for an obsolete size like Instamatic or 110 still sells more
"rolls" than all slide film! Of course with the American market is
billions of pix a year, 6% is still a lot of rolls/magazines. APS is
another harpoon as slide film is not much of a prospect. (e.g.no need as
the computer scan of negative film is just as good and better range
captured. Slide films only advantage is it can be seen without printing
before scanning.) BobH
