Seems like that if it's winter time, one could leave one's camera in
an unheated garage (or the like) to keep it cool. Not any different
than being outside in that same weather all day taking photographs. Does
the film's ASA rating (etc) vary significantly with temperature at time
of exposure?
One advantage of 50's cameras is that there isn't the traditional
cold-camera problem of failure due to cold batteries.! :-)

P.S. - I had a roll of Kodachrome that went unprocessed for about 10 years
after exposure. It had color shifting too!
