H.C. White Stereopscope Repair.

Hi,
I was looking through my Aunt's attic and found my Grandma's HC White
Stereoscope and about 55 cards (including (11) President Roosevelt signing
bills,
(8) Festival Hall at the worlds fair, and six of the great earthquake in San
Fransisco.)
The metal hood has a stamp that reads "Exposition Universelie Internationale
1900" By glancing through the archives I think that there is suppose to be
red velvet around the front edge.
Are there any suggestions on how to replace that? Is there padding?
How do I clean the hood?
The card holder beam looks like a different kind of wood, and looks like it's
missing a handle or something underneath.
How should I clean he wood?
Is there a web page with a good picture of this viewer?
Is the quality of this viewer good? It seems to be great to me.
Any help would be great.
