It's amazing what progress has brought us! When I first started working
with viewers (3 years ago), I had to operate on the viewer to lower the
lamp holder to fit the taller halogen bubls. Today one can buy (from Dr.
T!) 3V halogen bulbs that will fit fine and work with batteries. There is
even an option of forsted glass envelop for diffused light! Amazing!
