RE:Allen descibes the deluxe craftsmanship version of a slide-bar.
Here is the other end of the spectrum, used very successfully!

Find a cigar box (or similar) thet is 2 3/4-inches = 70mm longer than
the camera body width..inside dimension of box. Remove cover or lid and
one long side. Embed and glue a 1/4-inch nut in bottom (the standard
American tripor socket). Mount on tripod, put camera slid to right side
and shoot #1, slide to left side and shoot #2. If consistent then first
frame is always the right..remembering film image is upside down, so you
have to transpose to print or view. BobH
