Yes, I know who made it, had him over for a slide show last weekend, as a matter
of fact. It was designed and built by Bill Ewald, the Mr. Stereo of Kodak
during his nearly 40 years in product development. This is a tabletop rear
projection stereo viewer for Realist-format slides. It projects through a
fresnel lens onto specially prepared ground glass. This allows one to view
in stereo without glasses. Pretty cool, huh?
As you suggest, it was just another 3D product Kodak never developed. If you
have any specific questions about the device, I can forward them to Bill. He
designed and built several other stereo-related items that Kodak never developed
including a really nifty push-button/joystick projector, but that's another story.
