I've never had problems with Kodak's method of returning film, lately it
has come back loosely rolled in a protective sleeve, which comes to you
inside a cardboard tube. Unfortunately, though, I always 20% of the last
picture on every roll, Their service is pretty fast, considering that
they seem to send stuff I give them to Dallas. Takes about a week
(sometimes less, but the Chicago post office is not well known for speed)
from dropping the film in the box to return.
For those who use A&I, do they cut the roll at the end too far up as well?
I didn't realize that anyone else other than Kodak was doing kodachrome
anymore. We had a pro lab in Chicago that did it, but when the owner died
this past summer, guess who bought the lab and promptly closed it.
Ah, the wonders of captialism. John D. Rockefeller is alive and well in
rochester! Over 100 people working for a still profitable operation lost
their jobs, and customers lost the only lab in Illinois that did
Kodachrome. lose, lose for everyone except the Big Yellow Monolith. I'm
happy that someone else is doing Kodachrome, because now I can take my
business elsewhere.
