different packaging of returned Kodachrome

The reason why different people report that their unmounted Kodachrome is
coming back packaged in different ways is that the film is going to different
labs.  The old Kodak labs run by Qualex return the film tightly rolled,
interleaved with white paper and packed in a Kodak box.  The Minneapolis lab
run by Lerner Processing Labs for Kodalux Plus returns the film in a plastic
sleeve that is inserted in a cardboard tube.  In order to know which lab
handles film properly, you have to know where it's going.  Just saying Kodak
doesn't tell you anything.
