Richard is correct, of course, and I had meant to add to my post that
I knew my Kodachrome was going to the Dallas Qualex processing plant
because I asked the folks at the camera store where they send it.

I also noticed that some respondants missed the fact that the original
question was specifically about Kodachrome (K14 process) films. There
are a *very* limited number of locations in the U.S. that can handle
the K14 process. Greg Tank's list (posted to this esteemed forum)
listed all of nine(!) in the U.S., the information coming directly
from Kodak.

E6 slide films (pretty much every other standard color slide film than
Kodachrome) can be processed at virtually every photofinisher in the
world, and even at home. Obviously there will be a much greater
variation in how these films are packaged than with K14 films, given
the vast difference in numbers of potential processors.

By the way, the "A&I" lab that everyone gives rave reviews is one of
the few non-Lerner, non-Qualex K14 licensees in the U.S:

        A & I Color Lab
        933 North Highland Avenue
        Los Angeles, CA 90038
        (213)856-5255 or (800)883-9088
