That's true and I don't see this as being a problem, other than having
people specializing in a very narrow section of 3d instead of exploring 
its vast depths and variety.

The Detroit club has a great system of assignments that encourage
people to work with a variety of subjects instead of sticking with their
favorite one.

Assignments this year:  Nostalgia, Festivals, Transportation, Spiritual,
Patterns, Along the Road, Tabletops.

You could find a way and stick a red fire truck or use a wide angle in some
of those, but not all of them!
