3dfaq
- From: P3D Ralph Johnston <copley@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

I have some corrections and additions to the format section (pg 35) of the
3dfaq.
I obtained this from
http://bobcat.etsu.edu/ftpdir/photo/photo-3d/info/
Dimension (perfs)Frame width Frame ctr-ctr space Advance
TYPE
BeamSplitter 4 4 8
Image Tech 4 4 12
Nimslo 4 4 17
Realist 5 15 10
Belplasca,RBT A, 7 14 7/21 (alternating)
RBT B 8 16 8/24 (alternating)
RBT C 8 14 22
RBT S1 8 12 20
Divide the advance number into 36 x 8 = 288 to obtain the approx number of
shots per 36 ex roll. Use the average (7+21)/2 = 14 for the alternating
formats.
Additions to 3dfaq.pdf page 35.
The Nimslo/Nashika format has an extra perf between each group of 4 images.
In addition, the Nimslo has a LED to mark one of the 4 images on the edge.
Three RBT formats need to be added:
RBT B is the same is 7 perf euro except it is scaled up to 8 perf.
RBT C is an 8-6-8 format with a 6 perf blank between 8 perf images.
RBT S1 is an 8-4-8 format with a 4 perf blank between 8 perf images
It is available only in postscript (.ps) and in adobe acrobat (.pdf)
formats. Can everybody read these? How about a Microsoft Word (.doc)
version? I could convert it but it would be a lot of work. I could also
maintain it if no one else is willing. This would need your permission,
however.
You need a postscript capable printer to print postscript files. For
acrobat, you need the reader which can be downloaded from the Adobe page.
It should work fine if you have your own local printer. I tried to print
over a network and it filled up the buffer and crashed. Each page is 2Meg
and there are over 50 pages! So I used postscript instead with no problem.
There is a shareware program called RoPS that can extract text from a
postscript file. The graphics all have to be redone, however.
The FAQ is very well done and should be required reading for all photo-3d
subscribers.
