The moon and the stars

Call it serendipity, but after reading all these posts about shooting the
moon (no pun intended) and Dr. T's reposting of Belplasca specs including a
top (or is it bottom?) shutter speed of 1 second, I got to thinking: since my
Realist has the capability to keep its shutter open until another click of
the button closes it, what would happen if I went way out in the desert, far
away from ambient light, mounted the camera on a tripod pointing up at the
stars, and using a very slow speed film, propped the shutter open for X
amount of time? I've seen beautiful star trails recorded with 2D cameras
using this method, but would stereo be effectively different?

Just asking...
