That also applies to daytime stereo photos of large-scale scenic wonders
such as Yosemite. (A convenient tree gave me a useful 3D photo including
Bridalveil Falls.)

Another good subject in non-standard lighting conditions: silhouettes.
I've had success with some stereo photos of trees, a windmill, etc.,
looking completely black against a sunset sky.

It may be possible to apply this to star trails - set up a 3D camera on a
tripod so that it points at the stars through a set of monkey bars. :-)
