Anaglyph History
I would have to check to be shure of my facts but I believe a Frenchman by
the name of D'Almeida was the first to project anaglphs with two magic
lanterns and coloured filters in about 1850. Another Frenchman Molteni
(actualy that sounds Italian but he worked in Paris) in 1880 used a
Biunnial lantern normaly used for 2D dissolves . Yet another Ducos Du Huron
used complimentary coloured filters and sandwitched them and both pairs
together so they could be projected by a single lantern . In 1896 Newton
and Co in London marketed the system for two lanterns or a Biunnial and in
the early 1900's Theodore Brown marketed the system using a single lantern
and complimentary filters. P.J.Homer
