Zooms on Brackett Dissolvers...

Why did Brackett put zoom lenses in the new generation of projectors??? 
Seems to me that two fixed focal length lenses is all that a person needs
to cover all bases (a short, say, 4" for home, and a longer, around 6" for 
club, etc.)  Fixed focal length projection lenses appear to be cheaper and 
faster than zooms... and in projection you just don't change lenses in
the middle of the show! --- George
