I already make a 1:1 macro modification, as well as a 1:4. Neither of these
require more than 20 hours of total labour, and they both perform a lot
better than a Realist Macro in terms of an acceptable stereo base. If you
have taken over 100 hours just to modify an existing macro camera, perhaps
you should consider another design.

OK. $400 for a shutter, $100 for a Realist. $1500 for labor? I still think
that would be accessive.
Are you making a macro camera are are you trying to make a Stereo Macro
Realist replica? What is your goal here?
Don't get me wrong here. I'm not questioning ability, just trying to
understand why someone would go to all that bother to duplicate a camera of
questionable design. I've only seen a few examples of the results from a
Realist Macro, and the accessive base made viewing by stereo projection
quite painfull.
