I've used Polaroid slide film in a Realist. About 6 years ago, I had a
similar 'event' in which I needed instant turnaround of stereo slides.  
I really like the look of the stuff, but fine-grained it is not.  I found it
to be very grainy, but not very evenly grained, kind of 'lumpy'(to use the
technical term).  Color rendition was a little too saturated for my normal
taste.  But that said, there is something about the look I like; very Seurat!
Definitely worth trying!

While we're on the subject of different films. Has anyone ever tried using
Pan-X or Plus-X and developing it as direct-positive?  I always loved the
look of those slides in my flat photo days (incredibly vivid and rich range
of shading) but I've never tried it with stereo.
