You need two adaptors if you want to fit a flash that does not have a
PC cord to the Realist camera *without* modifying either the camera
or the flash. The first adapter makes a hot-shoe contact with the
flash and converts it to a PC cord. The second adapter accepts the
PC cord and attches to the Realist's unconventional hot shoe.

However, if you modify either the camera (as I've done) or the flash
(as others have done), you need zero adapters. The problem that Grand
has (I think) is the tight fit of the Realist shoe. Most flash
units cannot be inserted easily into this shoe. You will need to
either bend the edges of the shoe or trim the flash a bit. Another
problem with some flash units is that when the flash is inserted
all the way in the shoe, it loses contact. You can use a block
(piece of wood from match will do it) to stop the flash from getting
all the way it.

Welcome to the exiting world of Realist photography!
