I used that term (the title of a book I didn't read very carefully)
to indicate that it takes a good bit of dedication to hold one's
mouth to the firehose of P3D (metaphorically speaking), and some people
who might be good recruits to The Cause just don't have an incentive
to try, at least to start out. I think your responses to 3D questions are
great.

>Exactly how to you define "chatter/clutter"...
I can't think of any way to answer than without hurting someone's feelings,
or causing someone to say "Fine! I'll never write about X again!", and these
would be undesirable results. Very generally, my view is that personal
anecdotes, and responses to other people's anecdotes, can *sometimes* look
like chatting to a third party. I want to strongly emphasize that I think
it would be bad for the chatter to be cut out entirely - it adds to the
friendly nature of the list. But when traffic is heavy, if people could try
to cut down a little, it would be appreciated. (For instance, Seymour Depthe
hasn't had anything to say about his adventures for quite a while. :-)
